Murda Mook says John John Da Don and Arsonal are among the battlers set to take part in an upcoming Snoop-sponsored BET Hip Hop Awards weekend.

Murda Mook and Snoop Dogg are planning a Battle Rap event for the BET Hip Hop Awards weekend, set to take place in October.
Today (August 1), Mook spoke with Angry Fans Radio about the event.

"Snoop reached out,” Mook says. "He wanted to do a battle. He felt like, he didn’t want to step into my territory without consulting me. This is his world so if I want to do something…I’ma come to Mook. I’ma tell him my ideas. He wanted to do a Murda Mook and Snoop Dogg Present…and he got this school he doin’. Gladiator School.

Eminem and Rihanna Perform ‘Stan’ at Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza kicked off with performances from Iggy Azalea, Lorde, Arctic Monkeys, and Eminem, who closed out day 1 of the three-day festival in Chicago on Friday.
Wearing grey jersey shorts and a T-shirt printed with LL Cool J’s Bigger and Deffer album cover, the hip-hop superstar returned to Lolla for the first time since 2011, performing a 90-minute set on the Samsung Galaxy stage at Grant Park.
In addition to ripping through hits including “My Name Is,” “Not Afraid,” and “The Real Slim Shady,” Em welcomed special guest Rihanna. The powerhouse duo gave fans a preview of their upcoming “Monster Tour” by performing their No. 1 collaborations “Love the Way You Lie” and “The Monster.”

Remy Ma Released From Prison

Remy Ma is finally home. After serving six years behind bars, the Bronx rapper has been released from prison.

According to Miss Info, Big Pun’s 34-year-old protégée left Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women at 3 p.m. EST on Friday (Aug. 1), where she had been serving time for shooting her former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph.
She was originally scheduled to be released on Thursday, but was held an extra day due to an alleged “phone violation.” Her husband Papoose was there to pick her up in a white Lamborghini.
“#I’m back!!” Remy wrote on Instagram.

August Alsina and Nicki Minaj Link Up in ‘No Love’ Video

Nicki Minaj pulled double duty this week. In addition to shooting a video for “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Jessie J, the Young Money rapper joined August Alsina on set of his “No Love (Remix)” video. Nicki cozied up to a shirtless Alsina in a series of sexy Instagram shots.
The video was directed by Benny Boom, who has helmed several Nicki videos including “Beez in the Trap” and “High School.”

Papoose recently announced Remy Ma's release date during a performance.
“They locked my bitch up for six years," Papoose said during the show. "But guess what? July, she coming home."
Papoose further elaborated upon Remy Ma's release.
"July 30, y'all," Pap said. "It's goin' down for real...She took that bid better than I seen a lot of niggas take they bids. I was there every step of the way and she took that shit like a champ. We ain't glorifying that shit. Whatever happened happened. But it's an actual fact. She handled that shit like a real bitch."

Gillie Da Kid mocked Soulja Boy in an Instagram post today (July 31).
The post features a meme that refers to diamond testers being a fear for people. "Some of you niggaz biggest fears...a diamond tester," the meme says. Gillie's caption for the post is as follows:
"N I Got 1 N I'm Lookin 4 U Niggaz!!!! #HideNseek #Ctfuuu #ImaCatchUniggaz #souljaboyassniggaz."
This isn't the first time Soulja Boy has been mocked for his jewelry. In May 2014, FakeWatchBusta made fun of several rappers who he says have fake watches.

The former Xscape member opened up about her relationship with husband T.I. and said that they are still together despite all the rumors.
She insisted that she wasn’t trying to make T.I. jealous by befriending Floyd Mayweather, but wasn’t interested in talking about the boxing champ. “I don’t wanna talk about Floyd,” she said.
As of now, she doesn’t plan on putting out an album, but may consider releasing an EP with five or six songs.
In June, Azealia Banks and T.I. got into another feud after the “212″ rapper dissed Tiny on Twitter.

The two-day shoot took place in Los Angeles on Wednesday and Thursday with Hannah Lux Davis (“I’m Out,” “23″) in the director’s chair.
Nicki snapped a selfie with her co-stars, and shared it on Instagram. “Jessie J is a stunning class act. And Ariana is a cute liddle lady bug,” she said.

After the demise of N.W.A, Eazy­-E's Ruthless Records, and Suge Knight's then-upstart Death Row Records became embroiled in one of Hip Hop's most famous and highly-publicized civil wars. Part of that lyrical barrage was a song on Kokane's 1994 album, Funk Upon A Rhyme, called "Don't Bite the Phunk," which featured Above The Law's Cold 187um and took aim at Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Lil Wayne's "Krazy" Video Inspired By "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," Director Colin Tilley Says

Lil Wayne's "Krazy" video is a "psychological trip" for Lil Wayne, Tilley says.

Lil Wayne recently shot the music video for “Krazy” a track set to appear on the rapper’s Tha Carter V. Colin Tilley, the video’s director, previously directed the music video for Lil Wayne’s “No Worries.”
A behind the scenes video from MTV News shows Lil Wayne being restrained in a straightjacket, and sitting in an electric chair, but that comes with the video's inspiration, Tilley says.
“We talked about putting Lil Wayne in a psych ward and I definitely took some inspiration from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, just as far as the look and feel for it,” Tilley said to MTV news. “It’s more of the psychological trip that Lil Wayne’s going through in this place.”
One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest is a 1975 film set in a mental institution.
Lil Wayne is set to embark on the Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour beginning in August.
“The plan is just, cause thank god we’ve been so successful, just going back and forth with our hits and just getting the crowd to go crazy and then just finally hitting the stage together and going crazy,” Lil Wayne has said. “I think it’s something like it’s a battle type thing.” When asked who will win the battle, Wayne responded,”Oh you know give the good guy the edge.”
Drake is also “on a few other joints” besides “Believe Me” on Tha Carter V, according to Lil Wayne.
Lil Wayne also says Nicki Minaj will be expected on the album, and he will be expected on Minaj’s The Pink Print.

Eminem and Rihanna have announced their three-city The Monster Tour, slated to kick off in August.
Eminem and Rihanna, who collaborated on 2013's "The Monster," a cut off Em's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, plan on stopping in three cities for this tour, New York, Los Angeles and Detroit.
“There are some shows coming up with Rihanna,” Eminem said in an interview XXL. “It’s a three-city tour: New York, L.A. and Detroit coming in August. The Monster Tour.”
Rihanna spoke about working with Eminem during a January 2013 interview with Complex.
"The moment I worked with him on 'Love the Way You Lie,' I wanted to work with him again, and we did 'Love the Way You Lie Part 2,'" Rihanna said at the time. "And then I wanted to work with him again. I just love working with Eminem. He’s just one of my favorite rappers, and his lyrics—he’s a true poet, and I enjoy that about him. For this song, I needed someone with not only his skill, but his personality. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’ family is getting bigger. The superstar couple has announced that they are expecting their second child together.

A beaming Alicia took to Instagram on her fourth wedding anniversary to reveal that she is pregnant, and show off her baby bump.
