Murda Mook says John John Da Don and Arsonal are among the battlers set to take part in an upcoming Snoop-sponsored BET Hip Hop Awards weekend.
Murda Mook and Snoop Dogg are planning a Battle Rap event for the BET Hip Hop Awards weekend, set to take place in October.
Today (August 1), Mook spoke with Angry Fans Radio about the event.
"Snoop reached out,” Mook says. "He wanted to do a battle. He felt like, he didn’t want to step into my territory without consulting me. This is his world so if I want to do something…I’ma come to Mook. I’ma tell him my ideas. He wanted to do a Murda Mook and Snoop Dogg Present…and he got this school he doin’. Gladiator School.

Eminem and Rihanna Perform ‘Stan’ at Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza kicked off with performances from Iggy Azalea, Lorde, Arctic Monkeys, and Eminem, who closed out day 1 of the three-day festival in Chicago on Friday.
Wearing grey jersey shorts and a T-shirt printed with LL Cool J’s Bigger and Deffer album cover, the hip-hop superstar returned to Lolla for the first time since 2011, performing a 90-minute set on the Samsung Galaxy stage at Grant Park.
In addition to ripping through hits including “My Name Is,” “Not Afraid,” and “The Real Slim Shady,” Em welcomed special guest Rihanna. The powerhouse duo gave fans a preview of their upcoming “Monster Tour” by performing their No. 1 collaborations “Love the Way You Lie” and “The Monster.”

Remy Ma Released From Prison

Remy Ma is finally home. After serving six years behind bars, the Bronx rapper has been released from prison.

According to Miss Info, Big Pun’s 34-year-old protégée left Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women at 3 p.m. EST on Friday (Aug. 1), where she had been serving time for shooting her former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph.
She was originally scheduled to be released on Thursday, but was held an extra day due to an alleged “phone violation.” Her husband Papoose was there to pick her up in a white Lamborghini.
“#I’m back!!” Remy wrote on Instagram.

August Alsina and Nicki Minaj Link Up in ‘No Love’ Video

Nicki Minaj pulled double duty this week. In addition to shooting a video for “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Jessie J, the Young Money rapper joined August Alsina on set of his “No Love (Remix)” video. Nicki cozied up to a shirtless Alsina in a series of sexy Instagram shots.
The video was directed by Benny Boom, who has helmed several Nicki videos including “Beez in the Trap” and “High School.”

Wale hinted at a new musical direction on his last album with the single “LoveHate Thing” and the standout track “Sunshine.” Most recently, he dug his heels in and stood up for his team on “MMG Under God,” which had a similar aesthetic with live instrumentation and emotive vocals. The “new black soul” production style seems to have rubbed off on MMG labelmate Magazeen as they collaborated on Maga’s latest track “My Town.”

UPDATE #4: Remy Ma has been released from prison, according to her Instagram page.
Papoose recently announced Remy Ma's release date during a performance.
“They locked my bitch up for six years," Papoose said during the show. "But guess what? July, she coming home."
Papoose further elaborated upon Remy Ma's release.
"July 30, y'all," Pap said. "It's goin' down for real...She took that bid better than I seen a lot of niggas take they bids. I was there every step of the way and she took that shit like a champ. We ain't glorifying that shit. Whatever happened happened. But it's an actual fact. She handled that shit like a real bitch."
