Rita Ora Previews Prince Collaboration

Rita Ora
What happens when Rita Ora meets Prince? You get the “single most amazing thing in the room.” The Roc Nation singer has previewed her collaboration with the Purple One in a behind-the-scenes video from Roberto Cavalli’s Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign. The song, entitled “The Single Most Amazing,” was penned by Prince and produced by Josh Welton.
“She didn’t care how many there were and who / ‘Cause she was fallin’ in love with single most amazing thing in the room,” sings Rita over lush horns.
She previously spoke about working with the pop legend. “We did a few tracks together,” she told Paper. “I flew to Minneapolis and went to Paisley Park, which is like his iconic studios and we just made music. I was there for a week. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life.”
In addition to Prince, she has been in the studio with Diplo, DJ Mustard, and Macklemore for her sophomore album, due this fall.
Prince has also recorded an “aggressive and menacing” rap song with Rita for his upcoming album.

A$AP Ferg on Ariana Grande: ‘She’s the Next Mariah Carey’

A$AP Ferg and Ariana Grande
Is Ariana Grande the heir to Mariah Carey’s pop diva throne? According to A$AP Ferg, the “Break Free” singer is following in Mimi’s famous stilettos.

“She’s the next Mariah Carey. She’s dope,” the A$AP Mob member told MTV News. “And that’s not an understatement, or an overstatement—I just see her as that next big voice that’s gonna pop.”
Ferg has collaborated with Ariana on a song called “Hands on Me” for her sophomore album My Everything, due August 25.
But the unexpected pairing shouldn’t come as a surprise. “It’s not really strange because I do a lot of festivals, like Coachella, Bonnaroo [and] people don’t see what happens behind stage,” said Ferg. “I’m a rapper, but Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas comes to my trailer, I’m hanging out with Selena Gomez…and all of these people that love my music. So it’s just about that time we put the art together.”
In addition to Ferg, Ariana’s album features The Weeknd, Iggy Azalea, Childish Gambino, and Big Sean, who is featured on “Best Mistake.”
