NEWS: WanTickets.com Launches WantHipHop.com

By Nemmy Kim.

                            WanTickets.com Launches WantHipHop.com
Event ticketing company WanTickets has recently launched its new property, WantHipHop.com. Director of Business Development for WanTickets Ben De Ayora says WantHipHop, which aims to bring users details of upcoming Hip Hop shows from across the country, was birthed due to fans not being aware about live Hip Hop concerts in their cities.
“The reasons why I felt like WantHipHop was needed was because if you look out at the Internet right now with the exception of what we’re doing, there is no one place on the Internet to find all of the Hip Hop events that are going on in any one particular area,” Ben De Ayora says. “You might find a calendar for one city here or a calendar for one area there, but there’s nothing that really unifies it all together and then highlights what these guys are doing at their shows. Their shows kind of just happen, they disappear and then they’re onto the next one.”
Discussing WantHipHop.com’s target audience, Ben De Ayora says the site is aimed at anyone who has an interest in seeing Hip Hop music and culture live.

NEWS:Report: Rihanna Has 10 Songs Ready for New Album

By Nemmy Kim.

Rihanna
Rihanna’s eighth album has been shrouded in secrecy. But if the latest reports are to be believed, it could be coming as soon as this year.

According to Dash Radio’s DJ Skee (via Just Jared), the singer debuted 10 new tracks for a couple label executives in New York City last week, and the album may be released before 2015.
“That project is a lot closer than anyone realized, including her own record label,” claims Skee. “She’s trying to put out a project to capitalize off the fourth quarter.”
He also revealed the longwinded title of one song, “I’ve Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I’m Alone,” and said it could be a potential single.
Rihanna, who left Def Jam for Roc Nation in 2013, has been in the studio with DJ Mustard, Ester Dean, and Ne-Yo, among others, working on the follow-up to her 2012 album Unapologetic.
“The stuff I’ve heard is absolutely incredible,” Ne-Yo told Capital XTRA. “I can’t speak on what it sounds like because I’ll get in trouble, but I definitely feel like people are gonna enjoy it. Anybody that’s a Rihanna fan is gonna stay a Rihanna fan and anybody that’s not might become a Rihanna fan.”

After 14 years on the air, BET’s music countdown show “106 & Park” is going dark.

Bow Wow and Keshia Chanté will host the final daily on-air show on December 19, it was announced today.
There are still plans to produce “106 & Park” specials throughout the year, including the annual New Year’s Eve show, “106 & Party,” along with live event experiences at the BET Awards and BET Experience.
The long-running show launched in 2000 with hosts Free and AJ and in 2006 welcomed Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz. It featured some of the biggest stars in music, movies, television, and sports including Beyoncé, Madonna, Tom Cruise, and even First Lady Michelle Obama.
“We have pride in being involved with the show that has welcomed almost every movie star, music superstar, and fresh-faced talent you can name,” said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials. “We’ve all laughed with and been entertained by the young men and women hosts that have charmed us at 6 p.m. (and more recently 5 p.m.) each weekday.”
But it’s not the end of the road. In 2015, BET plans to take the show digital via BET.com and its social media platforms

Dr. Dre "Wants To Do His Last Album For Sure," Hittman Says
Brian “Hittman” Bailey, an artist formerly part of Aftermath Entertainment, said that he is still in the mix with Dr. Dre in Part 3 of an exclusive interview with Not Mad.
“I probably came back into the mix right around the time he had the prototype for the Beats headphones, I remember because he showed them to me,” Hittman says in the interview. “So I’ve been around, just lurking in the shadows. What I can honestly say though is that I know he wants to do his last album for sure. ”
Hittman says he’s not sure the album is the long-awaited Detox, but Dre has shown enthusiasm for his latest work.
“Dre stays in mover and shaker mode,” Hittman says. “He ain’t tryin’ to be stagnant, so he’ll poke his he’d into the studio to hear what you got brewing. He’ll say wassup and then he’s out of there, like ‘I got to hit this movie set’ or ‘I got to fly up north to meet the people at Apple.’”
Hittman, who is working on an album called The HITTmanifestation, said he values his independence as an artist.

By Nemmy Kim.

Yelawolf Says He's Surprised About "Shady XV" Song Selection
Yelawolf said he was taken aback by the songs included on Shady Records' upcoming Shady XV compilation.
“I was surprised to see ‘Pop The Trunk’ and ‘Let’s Roll’ on there,” Alabama rapper says during an interview with XXL. “I didn’t know they were doing that, which is cool. The original record I put on there, ‘Down,’ was a record that was really jamming but I wasn’t going to put it on [my forthcoming album,] Love Story. So it just so happened the opportunity came up to place it on Shady XV. ‘Down,’ it’s in the vein of where I’m at these days. I put that song on there. I did the feature hook for the Slaughterhouse and Eminem track [‘Psychopath Killer’] and the feature verse for the Eminem and Skylar Grey song [‘Twisted’].”
Yelawolf is set to be on four tracks on Shady Records' Shady XV double-disc compilation, which is scheduled to drop November 24.
He said that this Country Cousins project with Big K.R.I.T. is not currently in production.

NEWS: Nicki Minaj's & Iggy Azalea's Songwriting Defended By Taylor Swift

 By Nemmy Kim.

Nicki Minaj's & Iggy Azalea's Songwriting Defended By Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift says that female artists, including female rappers, are not evaluated in the same way as their male counterparts.
"It’s a little discouraging that females have to work so much harder to prove that they do their own things,” Taylor Swift says during an interview with TIME. "I see Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea having to prove that they write their own raps or their own lyrics, and it makes me sad, because they shouldn’t have to justify it.”
In August 2013, Nicki Minaj endured ghostwriting claims from rapper Ransom, who said that he wrote some of her early material.
"What?" Nicki Minaj said at the time. "I rap better than him. Who the fuck is he, crazy?"
She continued: "Yo, I'm not even a man and niggas got my dick in their mouth. Are you serious? I'm undisputed because I'm the only female rapper, that, day one, I don't need no motherfucking ghostwriter. So if you tellin' that lie, you must be real fucking desperate and you still ain't gunna pop. How 'bout that?”
In July 2014, T.I. said that he does not write for Iggy Azalea, but that Iggy and he do, like many other artists, get input from others while recording

“There’s actually another track that he did on this album that I had to take off for political reasons, but it was a really cool thing,” Flying Lotus told Pitchfork of “Eyes Above.” “He came to the house and laid it down and killed it. He didn’t come with no entourage or nothing. It was real special to me.”
He praised the “i” rapper. “I appreciate that space when I can sit with the artist and really see how their genius works, and Kendrick is that guy. He’s a visionary thinker. Every time he raps on a song, he raps like I wish I could.”
